Ride RTD for free during Denver’s New Years Eve celebrations

People can use Denver’s public transit system – which includes bus and train services – for free to celebrate from December 31st to January 1st.

DENVER – The Regional Transportation District (RTD) offers free bus and train connections from 7:00 p.m. on New Year’s Eve through Saturday, January 1, until 7:00 a.m.

RTD and its partner Molson Coors use the free service to celebrate responsibly and safely.

For the 13th time, the freeride service will be available on all RTD bus and train routes – as well as Access-a-Ride, FlexRide and SkyRide services. RTD said that since the program started in Colorado in 2008, more than 1.7 million trips have been made as a result of the program.

RTD customers can plan trips and find information on routes and timetables at rtd-denver.com.

“Go out, be happy and let us do the driving as you celebrate a new start in 2022,” said Debra A. Johnson, general manager and CEO of RTD. “Through a partnership with Molson Coors, RTD is offering New Year’s Eve party goers free public transport.”

Since the Free Rides program began in 1987, more than 8 million people in 28 communities have benefited from safe rides. The program is also offered this year in Chicago, Dallas, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, St. Paul, and Phoenix.

“At Molson Coors, we want the places we work to live better, and that includes keeping these communities safe,” said Tami Garrison, Community Affairs Director, Molson Coors. “Our Free Rides program is just one of the many ways Molson Coors is helping others celebrate responsibly. People can call 2022 and know that they have an alternative transport for New Year’s Eve. “
