Rhenus Logistics Indonesia builds new office in Medan | Taiwan News

The strategic expansion of Rhenus’ presence in the capital of North Sumatra strengthens its plans for business development, especially in agriculture and forestry.

JAKARTA, INDONESIA – Media OutReach – November 29, 2021 – The world’s leading logistics service provider Rhenus has opened a new branch in Indonesia. It is located in Medan, North Sumatra, and is the fourth office of Rhenus Logistics Indonesia. This expansion will support the company’s efforts to improve service efficiency for customers and further strengthen relationships with major airlines and shipping partners.

Indonesia has seen healthy growth in the country’s non-oil and gas exports and found that its export value fell in March 2021 due to the high growth in exports in agriculture, industry and mining. As an important regional economic and trading center in Indonesia, Medan is a gateway for the trade in goods and financial services on a national, regional and international level. Medan also serves as a well-known trading center for the agricultural sector, especially for palm oil.

This will also improve connectivity to Kualanamu International Airport, which provides access to many Asian countries as well as the Middle East and Europe, as well as Belawan Port, Indonesia’s busiest seaport outside of Java.

“With the presence of Rhenus Logistics in Medan, it will become a continuation point for the development of business and logistics services on the island of Sumatra. This move is in line with our goal of strengthening synergy efforts for business coordination in Jakarta, Batam, Singapore and Malaysia, “said Iwan Juniar, General Manager, Rhenus Air & Ocean, Indonesia.

Rhenus Logistics Indonesia is on a steady growth path to expand its local presence, with plans to expand on the islands of Sulawesi, Makassar and Kalimantan Island, Banjarmasin. It also has three offices in Java and a specialized office focused on projects and general cargo in Balikpapan. With air and sea freight services, Rhenus Logistics Indonesia supports customers in industries such as automotive, aircraft spare parts, electronics, furniture, semiconductors, machinery and food, and agriculture.
