A moderate magnitude 4.2 earthquake was reported just 93 km south of Pelabuhanratu, Indonesia

The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency reported a 4.2 magnitude quake in Indonesia near Pelabuhanratu, West Java, just 13 minutes ago. The earthquake occurred on Thursday, October 21, 2021, in the early morning at 1:53 a.m. local time, at a shallow depth of 11 km. The exact magnitude, epicenter, and depth of the quake could be revised within the next few hours or minutes as seismologists review the data and refine their calculations, or when other agencies publish their report.
Our monitoring service identified a second report from the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC), which also listed the quake with a magnitude of 4.2.
