pixitmedia, a Kalray subsidiary, is supporting Amazon Web Services’ media and entertainment creation lifecycle demonstrations at IBC 2022

LONDON, 05/09/2022–(BUSINESS WIRE)–pixitmedia1a Kalray companytoday announced that pixstor™ and ngenea® (a shared storage and data orchestration solution) will be included in the content production area of ​​the Amazon Web Services (AWS) booth (5.C80) at IBC 2022.

AWS will showcase a suite of end-to-end cloud production workflows and demonstrate how the industry’s leading editing, compositing, finishing, grading, and quality control (QC) tools can be used for full production in the cloud. These workflows are powered by pixitmedia’s flagship products, pixstor and ngenea, software-defined storage and orchestration software.

This follows the announcement that pixitmedia has been accepted into the AWS Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Accelerate Program, a co-selling program for AWS partners who offer software solutions that run on or integrate with AWS.

Offline editing, visual effects (VFX), and color grading are not only possible in the cloud, but can offer producers tremendous and tangible benefits in terms of performance, collaboration, scalability, and cost-efficiency.

At IBC booth 5.C80, AWS will be demonstrating the five-phase media creation lifecycle. Live camera footage is captured in a cloud collaboration environment using the Dailies platform Moxion. This footage is edited in Adobe® Premiere® Pro and adjusted in Flame®, the Autodesk® finishing and VFX solution. A fourth phase will show how FilmLight Baselight does the color correction, and finally the content will go through the Colorfront Streaming and Broker Service for QC, which also reads directly from Amazon S3.

The high-resolution, uncompressed 4K media for all five stages of the production process is edited on-site on pixstor and ngenea’s high-performance media-centric storage infrastructure, with 10-bit video streamed uncompressed from applications running in the cloud Use the latest AWS Cloud Digital Interface (AWS CDI), NewTek Network Device Interface (NDI), and Colorfront Streaming and Broker Service technology over a secure internet connection to an Amazon VPC. Amazon EC2 computing, Amazon Elastic Block Store and Amazon S3 storage underpin the entire pixstor and ngenea solution.
