Memorial Health System signs contract with Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield | News, sports, jobs
MARIETTA – Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio and Memorial Health System have renewed a multi-year contract.
The extension extends the contract through September 2025 and ensures that Anthem members in the Mid-Ohio Valley receive the benefits of the network’s internal health plan with the regional health system for years to come.
12% of the Memorial Health System patient base are Anthem members, many of whom use the health system for their care, including annual primary care, emergency care, and specialty services such as neuroscience, oncology, and cardiology.
With the renewal, Memorial can continue to care for the surrounding communities and address key health issues, while providing patients with affordable health care.
“We are pleased that this extended contract gives Memorial Health System patients stability and access to our integrated network.” Scott Cantley, President and CEO of Memorial Health System, said. “As the health system of this community, we want to guarantee the greatest possible access, the greatest possible experience and the highest quality of care for everyone.”
The long-term agreement ensures that consumers in the Mid-Ohio Valley continue to have affordable access to quality health care, said Jane Peterson, president of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Ohio.
“We look forward to expanding our partnership with Marietta Memorial as we work together to serve this community.” Peterson.
