Application development is the development of new applications, which may be mainframe, server, network-based, web-based, or a combination thereof, and may require interfaces to existing applications. Application maintenance and support includes troubleshooting, modifying, maintaining, enhancing security, and enhancing legacy systems and applications that may be running in a production environment. Technology upgrades, migrations and transformations can be achieved by converting/migrating legacy applications to new technologies, either with or without new business functionality. It may also involve introducing new technology into the organization and managing changes as a result of the introduction. Transformation can include assessments of the current application portfolio, assessment of technology assets prior to beginning technology transformation, and development of business cases to justify an initiative. Part of the transformation journey can include planning, analysis, requirements development, proof of concept, deployment, implementation, integration, remediation, data migration, documentation, application programming and support services, and training support. Return on investment (ROI), benchmarks and milestones may also be suitable to be included in a transformation initiative. ERP is a fusion of an organization’s information systems designed to automate and integrate a variety of functions commonly referred to as the “back office,” including finance, human resources, and asset management. These systems are typically modularized and generally highly configurable.
IT assessments, planning, independent verification and validation (IV&V) as well as market research, procurement consulting and contract execution services
IT assessments and planning can include IT effectiveness, maturity, governance and architecture. Strategic planning activities can include the development of mission statements, visions and goals, goal setting and strategy development. This category includes assessment of staff knowledge, skills and abilities, range, time and motion studies and succession planning. Strategic plan development and tactical planning may require the delivery of actionable plans and roadmaps. Organizational change management, enterprise architecture, cloud assessments, and network performance assessments are also within the scope.
Also included in this category are the independent verification and validation procedures used together for in-depth analysis of a product, service, or system for compliance with requirements, and for independent software (or system) development lifecycle (SDLC) monitoring ) processes and specifications.
