Maritime Transport Affairs recorded 3,443 services in the third quarter

Maritime affairs saw 3,443 transactions in the third quarter of 2021. The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC) tweeted that these transactions were related to ocean-going ship main services, maritime licenses, seafaring affairs and maritime systems services.
The number of services decreased 939 in the third quarter from 4,382 in the second quarter. In the first quarter of 2021, the department carried out a total of 3,537 transactions with an increase of 845 transactions.

In the main service area of ​​seagoing vessels, a total of 2,988 services were provided, while 45, 253 and 157 services for maritime license services, seamans’ affairs and maritime system services were provided in the third quarter.
In the second quarter, the numbers were 3,848, 22, 217 and 295, respectively, while those segments recorded 3111, 24, 172 and 228 in the first quarter of 2021, respectively.
Major seagoing ship services include registration, renewal, transfer of ownership, duplicate lost documents and deletion, while maritime license services provide renewal and data modification services for foreign ships operating in Qatari waters.
Sailor Affairs main services include issuing and accrediting certificates of competency for naval officers, naval architects and safe crews, while maritime systems services include transfer of ownership and certificate of seaworthiness. These services are offered to large ships.
The MoTC offers various services to small and large ships to develop the maritime transport sector. They are also designed to facilitate operations and procedures, and to keep pace with advances in technology by automating all ship services.
The various services are provided through the integration into the national documentation and archiving system of the MoTC in order to ensure that business processes are facilitated and completed via the mobile app application or the portal.
