CATE support for distance learning

With the switch to distance learning in the first two weeks of the spring semester, CATE has extended the previous courses for the 5th to 7th Replaced scheduled classroom tours on January 1st with six webinars designed to help instructors utilize the learning technologies required for full online teaching.

CATE’s teaching design and professional development team can use Blackboard to help you organize your course content; Zoom or Blackboard Collaborate to meet online with your students in sync; and Echo360 or Panopto for video sharing. In addition, we can provide ideas on teaching strategies to increase engagement of online students using different technologies. Using the right learning technology can improve accessibility for students participating in distance learning and speed up the return to the classroom once courses resume on campus. For example, if you teach in one of the 177 centrally managed classrooms in the spring, using Echo360 to record your video will allow your students seamless video access once you are back on campus.
