2022 “Reboot” – architecture competition launched by UNI to transform online games into physical stadiums

The $ 24,000 competition brings together design and architecture professionals and students.

Virtual reality technology has made quantum leaps in the industry by enabling hyper-realistic gaming experiences. They have creatively challenged our previous ideas about open world gaming and other online experiences.

With the increasing intensity of gaming, it has become a sport that is played by eSports athletes (players) and witnessed by many viewers online and offline. The competition is displayed in real time in venues, along with events and activities held to bring the gaming fraternity together.

The challenge is to design a modern gaming arena where players can meet for competitions and casual games. The rooms have to be based predominantly on the different types of open world games with different user interfaces.

The designer has the freedom of the imagination for the ambience and offers functionality and feasibility in design for the next few decades.

“Games have taken over our screens and are taking audiences all over the world by storm. It is not far before people live in esports just as they do at regular sporting events. The world is ready for this change – and this competition stimulates this imagination ”- says the curatorial committee of UNI.xyz.

Belong to the judges Ermis Adamantidis, Co-Founder, Not a Number Architects, and Dominiki Dadatsi, Co-Founder, Not a Number Architects. You are looking for contributions that take into account local conditions, problems and future visions when assessing the competition.

The last submission deadline is in January. The detailed dates and further information can be found on the dates page. The winning entries will be published on social media and social media channels and prizes of up to US $ 24,000 will be awarded.
